Grab a coffee with Laura
What is Coffee with Laura?
Coffee with Laura is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation with an Experienced Ajax Realtor where you can ask real estate questions, explore future possibilities, or simply connect as neighbours, over a cup of coffee or virtually.
You don’t have to be ready to move to talk about real estate. Maybe you’re curious about the real estate market, wondering how a future move could work, or simply enjoy talking about homes and neighbourhoods. Coffee with Laura is a calm space to ask questions, sort through ideas, and get straightforward information, without being put on a timeline that isn’t yours or a mailing list you didn’t ask for.
A Different Kind of Real Estate Conversation
Coffee with Laura is a one-on-one conversation focused on your situation, not a scripted sales pitch. We can meet at a local café or online, whichever is easier, and talk through what’s on your mind, from “we’re just starting to think about this” to “we have a rough plan and want a second opinion.” My role is to listen, ask good questions, share what I’m seeing in the Ajax real estate market, across the GTA and in areas where many Ontarians are moving (with help from my cross Canada partners), and help you feel clearer about your possible next steps, whether those steps involve me or not.
Who Is Coffee with Laura For?
Coffee with Laura might be a good fit if you:
- Are curious about what your home might be worth but aren’t ready to list.
- Are thinking about a future move, up, down, or out of town, and want to understand your options.
- Are a first-time buyer trying to make sense of deposits, financing, and timing.
- Are considering an investment or second property and want a grounded perspective.
- Love talking about homes, neighbourhoods, and local schools, even if you don’t have a move in mind.
- Are a fellow community member, parent, teacher, or business owner who simply wants to connect.
What We Can Talk About?
Common Coffee with Laura conversations include:
- How today’s real estate market conditions might affect your plans.
- Different paths to your “next home,” and how to compare them.
- Timing questions, when to sell, when to buy, and what to do first.
- Getting a home ready over time: light updates, curb appeal, and first impressions.
- Navigating life shifts like upsizing, downsizing, or supporting aging parents.
- Local community topics, schools, parks, small businesses, and neighbourhood feel.
What It Is Not.
To keep things clear, Coffee with Laura is not:
- A high-pressure listing presentation.
- A commitment to work together now or later.
- A conversation where you’ll be told what you “should” do.
- An endless, open-ended free strategy session.
- A place for detailed advice on an active offer or transaction if we don’t have a signed representation agreement.
Because real estate in Ontario is regulated under the Trust in Real Estate Services Act (TRESA), there are some things I can only do once we’re formally working together as client and representative. Over coffee, I can share general information about the Ajax and area real estate market, answer big-picture questions, and walk through options in broad strokes. When it comes to specific strategy or advice on a live deal, that level of detail always happens within a proper representation agreement that protects you.
Understanding the RECO Information Guide
In Ontario, real estate is regulated under the Trust in Real Estate Services Act (TRESA). The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) has created the Working with a real estate agent: Things you need to know information guide to help you understand your options and what to expect when you work with an agent.
Before I can give detailed advice, expertise, or opinions about your specific situation, or prepare any listing or offer documents, you’ll be asked to review this guide and confirm that you’ve seen it. It only takes a few minutes to read and is designed to protect you by making sure you know your choices, your rights, and how our working relationship is set up from the start.
How Coffee with Laura Works
Here’s how to set it up:
- Select “Request A Coffee with Laura” below. This will open the form.
- Pick a time that works for you. Select the closest time windows that fits your schedule.
- Share a bit of context. Tell me what you’d like to talk about, just a sentence or two is plenty.
- If your request is confirmed, we will meet online or at a favourite local shop.
- You decide what comes next. You’ll leave with more clarity, not a to-do list you didn’t ask for. If you’d like my help beyond our coffee, we can talk about what that might look like. Thank you for connecting.
